Foraminal Stenosis Treatment with a Cutting Edge Laser: Why You Should Choose LSI

Foraminal Stenosis Treatment with a Cutting Edge Laser: Why You Should Choose LSI

The numbness, weakness, and pain from foraminal stenosis have likely driven you to the doctor already, and you may be weighing your treatment options. If you are considering laser spine surgery, Laser Spine Institute is a great choice. LSI patients have a short recovery time—they walk out of the surgery center after endoscopic, outpatient procedure and are back to their normal activities within two weeks—and experience better rates of success than those who choose traditional, open-back foraminal stenosis surgery.

Because laser spine surgery is minimally invasive, it requires only one small incision and only deep IV sedation and local anesthesia, making hospitalization unnecessary. Because we have taken a hospital stay, large incision, and general anesthesia out of the equation, we greatly reduce the risk of infection, the length of recovery time, and the possibility of complications during surgery. But even with all of this good news, you may be wondering exactly how LSI treats your foraminal stenosis.

Here’s how it works:

  • After a board certified LSI physician reviews your MRI of CT scan and determines you are a candidate, you travel to one of our surgery centers in Tampa, Philadelphia, or Scottsdale.
  • Upon arrival, a complete physical and medical history review are performed.
  • You discuss your MRI or CT scan with a surgeon to determine how your foraminal stenosis will be treated.
  • After meeting with an anesthesiologist, you are prepped for surgery.
  • The foraminal stenosis procedure is conducted through a small tube inserted through a tiny incision in the back.
  • Physical therapy begins, and a post-operative review is conducted.
  • You are discharged from LSI and are free to make your way home.

All of this takes place over the course of five days LSI, so you’ll be on the road to recovery from foraminal stenosis in no time. In fact, many of our patients have reported feeling relief while still on the operating table, and more than 87 percent say they’ve experienced relief within three months of the surgery.

If you’d like more information about foraminal stenosis relief at LSI, contact us today. We’ll be happy to review your CT scan or MRI for free.
